Davis Joins Cougars; Active for Today's Doubleheader

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, have announced that outfielder Runey Davis has joined the Cougars from the Royals' extended spring training complex in Arizona, while outfielder Alex Llanos has been placed on the disabled list with a left hand bruise. This morning's transaction maintains an active roster of 25 players as the Cougars kick off a three-game series with a doubleheader at Beloit this afternoon. First pitch of game one is set for 4:30 p.m.

Davis (12th Rd, 2009) was originally drafted by the Cubs and spent the 2009 and 2010 season in the Cubs' farm system. Davis was signed as a minor league free agent by the Royals in March 2011 and batted .326 with 9 home runs and 42 RBI in 58 games to earn Idaho Falls Player of the Year honors.

Llanos (6th Rd, 2008) has played in seven games this season and is batting .214 this season.
