AUSTIN, Texas - The Oklahoma City Blue (6-1) defeated the Austin Spurs (2-4), 130-118, on Sunday evening.
Two-way player Tyler Davis went 12-of-14 to notch his fifth double-double of the season with a career-high 29 points and 13 rebounds. Richard Solomon was close behind with a double-double of his own of 22 points and a game-best 14 rebounds.
Oklahoma City pulled ahead early, up 12-6 within the first four minutes of action, but by the end of the quarter, Austin held a 28-26 advantage. The Blue then outscored the Spurs 40-23 in the second quarter to put the visitors up by 15 at the break. OKC kept momentum in the third, expanding the gap to as many as 19 points and not allowing the home team to get within 13.
The Blue was up 111-93 early in the fourth until a Drew Eubanks dunk sparked a 13-2 run by Austin to cut the lead to seven. Oklahoma City responded with back-to-back layups and kept the Spurs at a nine-point distance or better until time expired.
There were six Blue players that scored in double figures and three with double-digit rebounds, helping OKC outrebound Austin 55-34 and outscore them in second chance points 36-13.
Abdul Gaddy registered 13 points, nine assists, five rebounds and a steal while Justin Leon came off the bench to tally 12 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.
