LYNCHBURG, VA - Jon Gilmore and Seth Loman each had three-hit games and the Dash took advantage of four Lynchburg errors as Winston-Salem topped the Hillcats 7-5 on Saturday night at City Stadium. The win clinched the Dash's third straight series victory and gave the team a 5-1 record on its road trip.

Winston-Salem (25-11) got on the scoreboard in the second inning against Matt Fairel (3-1). Jason Bour walked with one out and scored on Kyle Shelton's RBI double. Shelton, who turned 24 on Saturday, collected his second double and eighth RBI of the season.

The Dash added three more in the third inning, thanks in part to Lynchburg's (15-21) shaky defense. With one out, Eduardo Escobar grounded a ball to second base. The throw to first was dropped by Carlos Mendez, and Escobar was safe on the error. Gilmore then singled, and Loman drove in Escobar with a run-scoring double to left. Ozzie Lewis brought home Gilmore on a ground out to the shortstop and Bour hit an RBI double to put the Dash ahead 4-0.

The Hillcats got to Justin Edwards (5-2) for a run in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly from Kevyn Feiner to cut their deficit to 4-1. It snapped Edwards' 17-inning scoreless streak, which dated back to the sixth inning of his April 30th start at Wilmington.

Winston got that run back in the fifth inning. With men on the corners and one out, Ozzie Lewis hit a fly ball to right against new pitcher Nick Christiani. Kyle Day dropped the ball and Escobar scored to give the Dash a 5-1 lead. The error allowed men to reach second and third with one down, but Christiani was able to retire the next two batters to avoid further damage.

Lynchburg plated a pair in the sixth against Edwards. The lefty allowed three straight hits with two outs, including an RBI double by Day and an RBI triple off the bat of Miguel Rojas.

The Hillcats got to within one on a home run by Devin Mesoraco off Kyle Bellamy, cutting the Winston lead to 5-4.

The Dash pushed another unearned run across in the eighth inning. With two down, Jordan Cheatham doubled and went to third on an error by center fielder Josh Fellhauer. Justin Greene then bounced a ball to third base, but Alex Buchholz' throw to first pulled Mendez off the bag for another error, allowing Cheatham to score and giving Winston-Salem another two-run lead.

Rojas got Lynchburg back within a run in the eighth with an RBI single, but Gilmore matched that with one of his own in the top of the ninth to make it 7-5.

Gregory Infante, who had come in with two outs in the eighth inning, worked a perfect ninth for his sixth save.

Edwards picked up his league-leading fifth win with his sixth quality start of the season. He gave up three runs on nine hits over six innings.

Fairel suffered his first loss, allowing seven hits and five runs (but only two earned) over 4.1 innings.

Gilmore went 3 for 5 to run his hitting streak to 15 games, matching his longest streak of the season.

Loman reached base four times, going 3 for 4 with two doubles and a run scored. He was hit by a pitch for the tenth time, the most of any player in the league this season.

The Dash goes for the three-game sweep against the Hillcats on Sunday afternoon. RHP Nate Jones (3-1, 3.86) opposes RHP Scott Carroll (1-2, 1.88) in a 2:05 pm. start. Fans can tune into the live audio broadcast beginning at 1:45 on www.wsdash.com.

The Dash returns to BB&T Ballpark on Monday night when it starts a seven game home stand against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Fans may purchase tickets for every Dash game this season by calling the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visiting www.wsdash.com.
