
Dash Announce Activities for "Fan Appreciation Week"

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (AUGUST 25, 2011) - The Winston-Salem Dash will celebrate the final home stand of the regular season with the second annual "Fan Appreciation Week" at BB&T Ballpark. The Dash, in the thick of a playoff race, will look to benefit once again from what has been the best home field advantage in the Carolina League over the last two seasons and also express gratitude for another year of overwhelming fan support.
The Dash return home on Friday to play a weekend series with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in what could be a playoff preview, as the Pelicans qualified for the postseason by winning the first half Southern Division crown. The series begins with a doubleheader at 6:05 p.m. on Friday and will wrap up with games on Saturday (7 p.m.) and Sunday (5 p.m.). Following two days off, the Salem Red Sox will come to town for three games, starting next Wednesday night.

Friday, August 26, 6:05 p.m. vs. Myrtle Beach Pelicans (doubleheader):
* The best fireworks show in town will follow the game
* Kids will have the opportunity to run the bases on the field at BB&T Ballpark after the fireworks show
* WXII's THIS Carolina (over-the-air channel 12-2 or Time Warner digital cable channel 121) will broadcast the first game of the doubleheader
Saturday, August 27, 7 p.m. vs. Myrtle Beach Pelicans:
* The ZOOperstars! will bring their fun and zany brand of entertainment to BB&T Ballpark during the game
* "Domino's Friends & Family Night" promotion; for $29.95, fans get four tickets to the game, four Dash T-shirts, and a voucher for a free large two-topping pizza and a two-liter soda
* Kids will have the opportunity to run the bases on the field at BB&T Ballpark after the game
Sunday, August 28, 5 p.m. vs. Myrtle Beach Pelicans:
* The Kids Zone at BB&T Ballpark will be free for all fans
* Fans may purchase $1 hot dogs at concession stands
* Kids will have the opportunity to run the bases on the field at BB&T Ballpark after the game
Wednesday, August 31, 7 p.m. vs. Salem Red Sox:
* First-ever "Pups in the Park Night" presented by Carolina Pet Place. Fans may purchase special tickets that will allow them to bring their dogs to BB&T Ballpark to enjoy the game with man's best friend
* Fans may purchase $1 hot dogs at concession stands
Thursday, September 1, 7 p.m. vs. Salem Red Sox
* Thirsty Thursday at BB&T Ballpark and fans can purchase $1 hot dogs at concession stands
Friday, September 2, 7:05 p.m. vs. Salem Red Sox
* The second fireworks show of the home stand will follow the final regular season game at BB&T Ballpark
* The Dash's "Salute to Fans": Dash players will throw t-shirts, hats, balls into the stands and will sign autographs following the game
* Kids will have the opportunity to run the bases on the field at BB&T Ballpark after the game
* WXII's THIS Carolina (over-the-air channel 12-2 or Time Warner digital cable channel 121) will broadcast the game
With a fourth straight trip to the Carolina League playoffs a distinct possibility, an announcement concerning how fans may purchase playoff tickets will be made soon.
Fans may still purchase tickets for the final home stand of the regular season by calling the Dash at (336) 714-2287, visiting www.wsdash.com, or by stopping by the BB&T Ballpark box office. The box office is open at 12 noon on game days and noon - 5 p.m. on non-game weekdays. It is advised that fans purchase their tickets in advance to shorten their wait times at the box office on game days and to ensure they get tickets before the games sell out.
