Frederick Keys News Release

Steve Bumbry, Jonathan Schoop, and Manny Machado combined for an incredible night as the Keys topped the Kinston Indians, 7-2, in the series finale of a four-game set. Bumbry, Schoop, and Machado, the first three in the Keys' lineup, went 7-for-11 with three doubles, two home runs, five RBIs, and six runs scored. Bumbry had the best night of the three. He finished up 4-for-4 with two doubles, a homer, and three runs scored.

Following a scoreless top half of the first tossed by Rick Zagone, Steve Bumbry led off the bottom of the inning with a bang. Bumbry launched a big fly over the center field. His 11th home run of the season put Frederick in front by a run.

The Keys added three more runs off LHP Mike Rayl on one swing of the bat in the third. With one out, Steve Bumbry doubled down the right field line. Jonathan Schoop followed with a walk. With Bumbry on second and Schoop on first, Manny Machado crushed a 2-0 pitch from Rayl deep to left field. Machado's three-run blast made it a four-run Keys advantage.

In the top of the fourth, Rick Zagone avoided a disastrous frame. After a one-out home run by 3B Adam Abraham, DH Jeremie Tice doubled and SS Casey Frawley and 1B Tyler Cannon each walked to load the bases. Zagone sidestepped trouble as he struck out LF Anthony Gallas and got C Roberto Perez to ground into a force play to end the inning.

Frederick added two more runs in the fifth and 3B Dale Mollenhauer hit a RBI double in the eighth inning to bring home the Keys' seventh and final run of the evening.

Rick Zagone improved to 4-2 with the Keys after he allowed two runs on five hits over six innings of work. Zagone's counterpart, Mike Rayl, surrendered six runs on nine hits in four innings pitched. Rayl fell to 1-3.

RHP Justin Moore tossed two perfect innings of relief in the Frederick 7-2 win.

The Keys welcome the Potomac Nationals to town on Friday night for the start of a three-game series. LHP Nick Haughian (8-6, 3.49) will take the hill for Frederick while the P-Nats will turn to RHP Paul Demny (9-10, 4.58). First pitch from Harry Grove Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The first 2,000 fans to Friday night's game will receive a Manny Machado poster courtesy of the Bayrunner Shuttle. Also, fireworks will follow the contest. For tickets, contact the Keys Box Office at 1-877-8-GO-KEYS or purchase online at www.frederickkeys.com.
