Jacksonville Icemen News Release
Jacksonville, FL - The Jacksonville Icemen, proud affiliate of the NHL Winnipeg Jets and AHL Manitoba Moose, today announced that Alexis D'Aoust is the Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for the week of October 22-28.
In three games last week, the 5-foot-11, 205 pound forward recorded seven points (3G, 4A) with a +5 rating as the Icemen improved to an ECHL-best 5-0-0. They remain the only undefeated team in the League, much thanks to D'Aoust and an explosive offense that's outscored it's opponents 22-9.
The 22-year-old Trois-Rivières, Quebec native has tallied a point in each of the Icemen's first five games with back-to-back three-point games over the weekend. His 12 points (6G, 6A) are good for 3rd in the League, but only two points behind the leader in that category, who has played eight games compared to D'Aoust's five.
D'Aoust spent last season with the Utica Comets (AHL) where he notched 21 points (10G, 11A) in 57 games. Prior to turning pro, he spent five seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League collecting 241 points (113G, 128A) in 299 games with the Shawinigan Cataractes.
On behalf of Alexis D'Aoust, a case of pucks will be donated to a Jacksonville youth hockey organization by Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Inglasco has donated more than 39,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
The Icemen welcome the Florida Everblades for MARVEL weekend this Friday and Saturday. The team will be wearing Captain America themed jerseys that will be auctioned off.
