Dallas Assigns Sawada, Texas Recalls Neal From Idaho

Cedar Park, TX - The Dallas Stars announced on Thursday that right wing Raymond Sawada has been assigned to the Texas Stars, Dallas' primary affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Texas Stars also announced that left wing Michael Neal has been recalled from the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.
Sawada, 24, has played in five games for Dallas this season, recording two shots. He has skated in 36 games for Texas this season, collecting three goals and six assists. The Richmond, British Columbia native scored 76 points (31g, 45a) over 137 games during four years at Cornell University. The second-year pro was Dallas' second round selection (52nd overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Neal returns to Texas after playing in 42 games with the Idaho Steelheads. Neal scored four goals and added nine assists for 13 points. The 20-year old Neal played has played in four games for Texas this season, going scoreless with a -2 rating. Neal was drafted by Dallas in the fifth round (#149 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Whitby, ON native is the younger brother of current Dallas Stars forward James Neal.
The Stars conclude a five-game home stand with a pair of games with Chicago on Friday, February 12th at 7:30 PM and Saturday, February 13th at 7:00 PM. On Friday night, the first 3,000 fans receive a Texas Stars Car Flag and fans may purchase $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs. The State Farm Family four-pack (four tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs) is available for Saturday night. The Stars will begin a five-game road trip starting on Tuesday, February 16th in Hamilton. All games can be heard on the Stars flagship station ESPNAustin 104.9 FM "The Horn" or ESPNAustin 1530-AM.
