
'Dads Win Streak Comes to an End

Hickory, NC - The Crawdads win streak was snapped at three as the 'Dads fell to the Tourists 7-4 on Friday night.
Asheville was able to get a run across in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead.
The Tourists added on with a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to pull ahead 4-0. Crawdads righty Zak Kent finished his evening after the fifth, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and two walks. He struck out four batters.
Seth Nordlin entered the game in relief in the sixth, giving up a run in his first inning of work.
The Crawdads were able to get a run on the board in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 5-1. Jonathan Ornelas led off the inning with a triple, his first of the season. Blaine Crim with a ground ball to right.
The 'Dads stayed hot, getting three more runs in the seventh to make it a one run ball-game. Jose Acosta was hit by a pitch and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Kellen Strahm drew a walk to put two runners on. Both moved up on another wild pitch. Jonathan Ornelas hit a ground ball just in front of home plate that the catcher threw past the first baseman, allowing Acosta to score. The right fielder collected the ball and another throwing error let Strahm to go to third and Ornelas to take second. Crim collected a base hit that scored both runners.
Asheville struck back with two runs in the top of the ninth take bring the score to 7-4.
Tomorrow evening the Crawdads will be inducting slugger Joey Gallo into the Claw of Fame. The first 1,000 fans will also get a Texas Rangers Joey Gallo bobblehead thanks to Big Dawg 92.1. The 'Dads will also be hosting Beach Night and fans can wear beach themed outfits to the ticket office for a discounted $6 ticket.
