The "Time of My Life Tour" looks to expand upon the popularity of the Crawdads Christian Concert series, which has witnessed sellout crowds the last three years.
"We've had a lot of success and positive feedback from our ongoing Christian concerts at the ballpark and the "Time of My Life Tour" seemed like the perfect way to expand on that," said Crawdads Dir. of Community Relations & Events Megan Meade. "These are four great bands all coming together for one concert!"
Texas-based, four-piece band The Afters were propelled into the national spotlight with their debut album I Wish We All Could Win. The project spawned the swirling, melodic hit "Beautiful Love," earning the band an enthusiastic following when the song was selected as the theme track for MTV's "8th and Ocean." "Beautiful Love" was also the most downloaded track of 2006 on the iTunes ® Inspirational charts and garnered the band an mtvU award.
The Afters' sophomore release Never Going Back To OK debuted in the Top 50 on the Billboard Top 200, and proved to be a sensation on the silver screen with "Grey's Anatomy," "Dr. Phil," "Army Wives," and "Rachael Ray." The band's third record Light Up the Sky bolstered two No. 1 radio hits, and was featured on "The Biggest Loser" and "You Deserve It." 2013's Life is Beautiful kept The Afters in the national spotlight with hits including "Moments Like This," "Love Is In The Air," and "This Life" being featured on "American Idol," "Biggest Loser," "America's Got Talent," "The Bachelor," and "Parenthood."
For a band named Unspoken, Chad Mattson, Mike Gomez, Jon Lowry, and Ariel Munoz have been making a lot of noise. With two straight Top 5 singles ("Who You Are"and "Lift My Life Up") and successful tours with bands like Sanctus Real and Bid Daddy Weave, Unspoken has built steady momentum through their last two EPs.
The timing is therefore perfect for the band's first full-length album, Unspoken. Mattson and the band jumped at the chance to release a complete, full-length album with all the elements in place. It's a diverse record befitting a diverse band, which features members from Maine, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
Chris August is a soulful singer-songwriter who cites influences from Stevie Wonder to Boyz II Men and accepts the call to speak the truth and pour every ounce of his being into his music, without taking himself too seriously. This equilibrium is evident on the award-winning artist's new record, The Upside of Down. Due out on August 21, the new record comes less than four months after a skateboarding accident left the artist in the hospital with a serious brain injury and no memory of the event. The record explores the beauty of God's omnipresence and abiding love, and the lead single, "Center Of It," points to God's promise to be with His people in the midst of the highs and lows of our lives.
The Upside of Down isn't August's first break into the music industry by any means. His Fervent Records debut, 2010's No Far Away, cemented his name in the Christian music world and earned the Texas native the coveted titles of "New Artist of the Year," "Male Vocalist of the Year" and "Pop Contemporary Album of the Year" at the 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards. His popular radio single "Starry Night," held the No.1 spot on Billboard's Christian / AC chart for six consecutive weeks.
Forming in Clearwater, Fla., in 2008, Among The Thirsty's original line-up consisted of Ryan Daniel as the lead vocalist, Brian Henderson on guitar and Brock Douglas on bass. The band released several independent offerings prior to signing with BEC Recordings, one of which garnered them the Top 10 radio single "I'd Need a Savior" on the R&R Monitored AC chart, an unheard of feat for an unsigned artist.
The group relocated to Nashville shortly thereafter and eventually added two new members to round out their five-piece: guitarist and keyboardist Riley Donnell and drummer John Wall. The band's 10-track debut, Who You Say I Am released in March, and features the radio songs "Completely" and "What Love Looks Like," which have been climbing the charts of stations across the country.
