SAVANNAH, GA - The Hickory Crawdads scored three runs in the top of the 13th inning for the 5-2 win against the Savannah Sand Gnats before 1,992 fans at Historic Grayson Stadium on Friday night.

The Crawdads (10-5) struck first in the top of the first when DH Zach Cone connected on an RBI double that brought in SS Hanser Alberto from third base for the early 1-0 lead.

After the Sand Gnats (10-6) tied it in the bottom of the first, the Crawdads reclaimed the lead right away in the top of the second. C Kellin Deglan led off with a double and moved to third on a ground out to the mound. 3B Drew Robinson then grounded an RBI fielder's choice to short and Deglan slid home right before the throw from SS TJ Rivera, making it 2-1.

After 2.1 scoreless relief innings from RHP Arlett Mavare, Savannah tied it again in the bottom of the seventh against LHP Andrew Faulkner. LF Dustin Lawley singled his way on and stole second base. He then moved to third on a fly out to right, before scoring on a sacrifice fly by CF Travis Taijeron to square the score, 2-2.

Hickory finally broke through in the top of the 13th inning against RHP Jared West (L, 1-1). With two on and two down, Robinson placed a two-run double just inside the left-field line, putting the 'Dads ahead, 4-2. CF Chris Grayson then lined an RBI single to center field, plating Robinson for the 5-2 advantage.

RHP Phil Klein (W, 1-0), who had taken over on the mound to start the 12th after three scoreless frames from RHP Nick Martinez, nailed down the 5-2 win for Hickory with a scoreless bottom of the 13th.
