CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors announced today that D Nikita Nikitin (nih-KEY-ten) has been assigned to the Condors by the Edmonton Oilers. Bakersfield opens their first American Hockey League (AHL) regular season on Friday and Saturday at home.
NIKITIN
29 years old from Omsk, Russia; originally drafted in the 5th round (#136 overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues
A veteran with 248 games in the NHL and 129 games in the KHL
Acquired by the Oilers on June 25, 2014 from the Columbus Blue Jackets for a 5th round draft pick
His best NHL production came in 2011-12 when he registered 32 points (7g-25a) in 54 games with the Blue Jackets
CONDORS OPEN REGULAR SEASON AT HOME ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
The wait is finally over. The Condors will open the regular season, their first in the American Hockey League, on Friday Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10. The first 5,000 fans will receive sunglasses on Saturday presented by Eyewitness News, KGFM, and Dignity Health. Then, on Saturday, the first 2,000 fans, 17 and under, can choose from nine different team footballs as part of Deflated Football Giveaway presented by Eyewitness News and Dignity Health.
