Comets Drop Preseason Finale in France

LYON, FRANCE - The Utica Comets dropped their preseason finale to the Dragons de Rouen by a score of 5-3 at the Patinoire Charlemagne Arena in Lyon, France on Sunday night.

Jordan Subban (0-2-2) and Andrey Pedan (0-2-2) paced the Comets with a pair of points each. Blair Jones (1-0-1) and Nicklas Jensen both scored their second goals of the preseason.

Jones opened up the game's scoring in the first period. Michael Zalewski and Subban assisted on the goal. The assists was Zalewski's second of the preseason.

Joe Cannata and the Comets surrendered the next three goals to the Dragons before Dane Fox cut the Dragons lead to 3-2 in the third period with his first goal of the preseason. Subban and Pedan assists on the goal.

The Dragons quickly regained the two-goal lead moments later. Jensen quickly erased the two-goal deficit with a tally of his own seconds later. Anton Cederholm and Pedan assists on the Comets final goal of the game.

With a 5-on-3 power-play advantage the Dragons added an insurance goal in the final minutes to ice the game at 5-3.

The Comets will travel back to Utica, NY on Monday to prepare for their regular season debut against the Rochester Americans on Oct. 10 at the Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester.
