D.C. United have selected Loyola University Maryland forward Josh Fawole with the 42nd (2nd Round) overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas. The Black-and-Red acquired the 42nd overall pick in a trade with the Portland Timbers on Jan. 1, 2018.
Fawole, a Columbia, Md. native, scored 20 goals and recorded 10 assists in 68 appearances (47 starts) over four seasons with Loyola (2016-2019). Last season, the forward was selected to the All-Patriot League First Team after scoring eight goals and recording two assists in 19 appearances (12 starts).
