January 9, 2020 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Portland Timbers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - In celebration of the club's 10th year in Major League Soccer, the Portland Timbers today announced that they once again will be offering the opportunity to participate in the popular axe portrait photo shoot, originally introduced in 2011 for the team's inaugural MLS season.
The Timbers will be conducting three, free fan photo shoots during two separate weekends on a first-come, first-serve basis, open to the public, at Providence Park. Fans are asked to enter through Gate D located at the northeast corner of the stadium on 18th Ave. The first weekend is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Pacific) and Sunday, Jan. 26, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Pacific). Times for the second weekend are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Pacific) on Saturday, Feb. 1.
For information on how to get to and navigate the stadium, visit www.PTFCPMap.com for more information.
In addition to the photo shoots, the event will feature an open pitch, where supporters will be able to play on the field and take photos, participate in FIFA gaming stations and enjoy food and beverage specials. Props will be provided at the photo shoots, but additional items are welcome as long as they are appropriate and adhere to stadium policies.

Additionally, the club will once again be running a billboard contest for fans to be selected and placed on their very own billboard. Voting will take place in early February with billboards being displayed in downtown Portland in March.
Later this month, the club will launch rctid.com, which will serve as the new home for every fan axe portrait taken over the last 10 years (from 2011, 2015 and 2020). This website will allow fans to find, share and engage with all of the images ever produced from the photo shoots.
