D.C. United News Release

Washington, D.C. (Aug. 6, 2015) "" [Kasper quote revised] D.C. United has announced that it has received Targeted Allocation Money, an international roster spot for the remainder of the 2015 season and future considerations from the Portland Timbers in exchange for Homegrown forward Michael Seaton.

"Michael is a young player with strong potential who is continuing to grow, and he will benefit from a fresh start," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. "This deal provides D.C. United with immediate assets and a great deal of future upside. We thank Michael for his contributions to the club and wish him the best."

Seaton, 19, made five career appearances (two starts) for the Black-and-Red. The D.C. United Academy product became United's fifth Homegrown addition when he signed with the First Team on Jan. 14, 2013. He is also the first MLS player to be born after the league began play in 1996. Seaton, who has not appeared for United in 2015, made four appearances on loan with Orebro SK of the Swedish first division earlier this year. He had eight goals and one assist in 23 appearances on loan with the USL Richmond Kickers in 2013 and 2014. Seaton also has 13 appearances and two goals for the Jamaica Men's National Team.
