
D.C. United kicks off 2007 Premier Tournament Series

Washington, D.C. (March 23, 2007) - D.C. United announced today the first tournament to be included in the D.C. United Premier Tournament Series - the 2007 Prince William Soccer Incorporated (PWSI) Icebreaker Soccer Tournament, set to be held March 24-25, 2007. Additional Premier Tournament Series events will be announced at a later date.
The Icebreaker Tournament will be played on numerous fields throughout Northern Virginia. Now in its 13th year, the tournament has grown to be the single largest weekend preseason soccer tournament on the east coast. More than 500 boys and girls travel soccer teams, ages nine to 19, from 13 different states will participate in the tournament's 900-plus games. The tournament will feature D.C. United merchandise giveaways and player appearances. For more information visit:
Prince William Soccer, Inc. was established as organization dedicated to developing character and sportsmanship in youth through the game of soccer. It is now one of the largest soccer programs in the State of Virginia. For more information on its programs and tournaments visit www.pwsi.org The D.C. United Premier Tournament Series was established in 2006 and seeks partnerships with competitive youth soccer events throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Last season, three tournaments partnered with the Black-and-Red through this initiative, providing participants unprecedented competition and access to the four-time MLS Cup champions.
