Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
THIS PAST WEEK:
About Monday Night in Orlando: In what turned out to be another close affair, the Solar Bears narrowly downed the Cyclones by a 2-0 final score in front of 5,072 at Amway Center.
About Friday Night vs. Orlando: A third period goal by Brock Montgomery proved to be the game-winner as the Solar Bears held on to beat the Cyclones by a 3-2 final score in front of 4,447 at U.S. Bank Arena.
About Saturday Night vs. Fort Wayne: Forward Jack Downing earned a hat trick to lead the Cyclones over the Komets by a 3-1 final score in front of 7,185 at U.S. Bank Arena. It was the first time this season that a Cyclones player earned a three-goal game or better. Brett Wysopal and David Pacan each posted a pair of assists in the win.
About Sunday Night in Fort Wayne: A pair of quick third period lamplighters proved to be the difference as the Komets narrowly beat the Cyclones by a 3-2 final score in front of 6,188 at Memorial Coliseum. Jack Downing continued his hot start to his Cincinnati career, with his second straight multi-point game (1g, 1a).
THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE:
Thursday, March 19 at Greenville, 7:00pm ET
Friday, March 20 at Greenville, 7:00pm ET
Saturday, March 21 at South Carolina, 7:05pm ET
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
Back on the Road: The Cyclones return to the road for their final lengthy trip of the season, making their way to the Palmetto State for a trio of games. On Thursday, the Cyclones battle the Greenville Road Warriors in the first of back-to-back match-ups. Both contests are set to begin at 7:00pm from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Then, on Saturday night, the Clones make their way to Charleston to face the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05pm. Fans can watch all the action LIVE at Game Time Sports Bar and Grill in Cheviot.
Tempo Setters: The Cyclones have found their best success when pulling out in front early in games. They are a stellar 20-9-1-1 when striking the game's opening goal and a perfect 19-0 when pulling out in front 2-0.
Hat's Off: Cyclones forward Jack Downing has started off his Cincinnati career in impressive fashion. He became the first Cyclones player this season to earn a hat trick this past Saturday. Interestingly, the last Cyclones player to net a three-goal game or better was Brian Nugent (March 21, 2014) - one of the pieces moved at this year's trading deadline to acquire Downing.
Pucks & Pints - Friday, March 27: Don't miss out on the final Pucks & Pints pregame beer tasting event of the regular season!
