Atlanta Gladiators News Release

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that they have claimed forward Brock Higgs off of waivers on Saturday.

Higgs, 22, has five goals and five assists in 30 ECHL games this season, his first full professional season. He began the year with the Reading Royals before moving on to the South Carolina Stingrays and the Fort Wayne Komets.

The Kingston, Ontario native's first taste of professional hockey came late in the 2013-14 season when he signed an ATO contract with the Worcester Sharks of the AHL. Higgs registered three goals and three assists in 16 games for the Sharks.

Higgs played for four years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2010 to 2014 along with fellow Gladiator Bo Dolan. Higgs' best season came in his senior season when he finished second on the team with 14 goals and 16 assists. He was also named the captain of the Engineers for that final year at R.P.I.

In addition, forward Sebastian Geoffrion, who was signed to a one-day SPC contract, was released by the Gladiators after their Friday night game against South Carolina.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward will join the Gladiators before their three-game road trip to Orlando on Tuesday.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league, and are affiliated with the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth - where parking is always free.
