Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
THIS PAST WEEK:
About Sunday Afternoon in Wheeling: Cody Sylvester's third period goal proved to be the game-winner as the Nailers narrowly squeaked by the Cyclones by a 3-1 final score in front of 2,068 at WesBanco Arena. Josh Shalla netted Cincy's lone goal while Rob Madore made a season-high 37 saves in a losing effort.
About Saturday Night vs. Wheeling: Josh Shalla provided the biggest fireworks of the night, scoring twice to lead the Cyclones over the Nailers by a 4-1 final score in front of 7,839 at U.S. Bank Arena. Former Nailer Paul Crowder recorded two assists in the victory, giving him four points in seven games against his former team. Goaltender Rob Madore was solid in net, turning aside 25 of the 26 shots he faced in the tilt.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
A Busy Week Ahead: Fresh off a weekend split against Wheeling, the Cyclones will open a three-game week beginning Wednesday night at U.S. Bank Arena when they host the Reading Royals. The game will feature $1 beers and the first-ever Cyclones Prom Night, where formal attire is encouraged! On Friday night, Cincy will head up I-75 to battle the Toledo Walleye before coming back home to open the month of February against the Fort Wayne Komets. Saturday's tilt will feature special "Captain America" jerseys that will get auctioned off after the game as we host Military Appreciation Night!
Shalla's Shelling: Cyclones forward Josh Shalla has collected three goals over the last two games for Cincinnati, including a game-winner on Saturday night. He's earned points in all but three games this season.
A Dangerous Trio: Of late, the hottest line for the Cyclones has consisted of Josh Shalla, Paul Crowder, and Anthony Luciani. This top offensive line has combined for 10 points in their last three games.
