Aces Returned Kremyr, Assigned McKelvie from Abbotsford

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, proud affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, announced today that the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League have released left wing Jordan Kremyr from his professional tryout offer, assigned defenseman Zach McKelvie to the Aces, and the Flames have recalled goaltender Olivier Roy and defenseman Drew MacKenzie from the Aces to Abbotsford.

Kremyr, 27, made his AHL debut with Abbotsford and skated in six games while registering four penalty minutes. He has also collected nine goals and 12 points in 29 games for the Aces while serving as alternate captain this season.

The 5-foot-11, 183 pound forward has posted 54 points and a +20 rating in 127 career games with Alaska.

McKelvie, 28, has 100 games of AHL experience with Abbotsford and Providence, collecting four points and 167 penalty minutes. He has also suited up in seven ECHL games for Reading and buried a goal while notching two assists and six penalty minutes in the 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

The 6-foot-2, 200 pound defenseman was captain for Army (NCAA) during his 2008-09 senior season and earned 56 points and 208 penalty minutes in 132 career college games. He was named Best Defensive Defenseman and First All-Star Team honoree of the Atlantic Hockey Association as a 2007-08 junior when he posted a career high 13 assists and tied another in points (17), in 33 games.

Roy, 22, is 2-2-0 in four AHL games this season with Oklahoma City, is tied for fourth in ECHL goals-against-average (2.10) and is fourth in shutouts (4) while going 13-7-0 with in 20 games with the Aces. He was assigned to the Aces on Nov. 9, one day after he was acquired by Calgary with defenseman Ladislav Smid from Edmonton, in exchange for goaltender Laurent Brossoit and forward Roman Horak.

MacKenzie, 25, has seven points and a +11 rating in 18 games with the Aces while posting five points and a +2 rating in 16 games for Abbotsford this season.

The 6-foot-2, 203 pound blueliner has 14 points in 43 career games with the Heat.
