JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Brooklyn took the lead in the 10th and held off the BlueClaws 5-4 on Wednesday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.

Jersey Shore (44-72) has dropped the first two games of the current series to Brooklyn (58-58) and the Cyclones have won 17 of 23 between the two teams this year.

Brooklyn took the lead in the ninth with a home run from Stanley Consuegra off Jonathan Hughes. The BlueClaws, however, tied the game in the bottom of the ninth on a SAC fly from Casey Martin.

That sent the game to the 10th where the Cyclones got a SAC fly in the top of the 10th inning from Matt Rudick to bring home inherited runner Matt O'Neill with the go-ahead run off Hughes (an unearned run). In the bottom of the 10th, the BlueClaws loaded the bases, but Uziel Viloria struck out and Jared Carr grounded to first base to end the game.

Daison Acosta (5-6) earned the win while Jonathan Hughes (0-3), who gave up two runs/one earned, took the loss.

Brooklyn opened the scoring in the first inning on an RBI single from Stanley Consuegra. He brought home JT Schwartz, the first of three straight base-runners after starter Rafael Marcano retired the first two batters of the game.

Jersey Shore took the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Marcus Lee Sang drove in the first run with an RBI triple and Luis Garcia brought Lee Sang home with a SAC fly.

The Cyclones re-took the lead in the fifth on a two-run home run by Shervyn Newton, his second home run in as many games in the series.

Marcano came out after five innings, allowing three runs while striking out seven.

The BlueClaws re-tied the game in the sixth. With two out and runners on second and third, Nick Matera hit a soft roller in front of the plate. Brooklyn catcher Matt O'Neill made an errant throw to first base, allowing Luis Garcia to score from third with the game-tying run.

Ethan Wilson had two hits for Jersey Shore.

The teams continue their series on Thursday night at 7:05 pm. RHP Kyle Glogoski starts for Jersey Shore.
