MEIJER KIDS CLUB MATINEE GAME

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: After an exhilarating 3-2 shootout win last night, the Cyclones will close out their weekend in Toledo tonight for their second-to-last visit of the season. Although the Cyclones own a 5-2 record in the 2013-14 series, the Walleye have taken the last two games. And much like the all-time series, this year's slate of games have come down to the wire - with all but one getting decided by two goals or less.

SCOUTING THE WALLEYE: Nick Vitucci's club has its work cut out for them in the final two months of the season if they want to make the playoffs. As of tonight, they sit 18 points out of eighth place in Eastern Conference race. With a multi-point game last night, Travis Novak leads the Walleye with 27 points in 33 games this year. David Gilbert has also been a regular contributor offensively, with 26 tallies in 34 tilts. Toledo also got a big offensive shot in the arm with both Pat Mullane and Philippe Lefebvre getting reassigned this week. Between the pipes, Mac Carruth leads the way with an 8-11-0 record and a 3.05 GAA including a pair of wins against the Cyclones. Fellow goaltender Jared Coreau has amassed an 1-8-3 mark with a 4.34 GAA.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: FEBRUARY 7, 2014: Kyle Rogers scored twice as the Cyclones fell to the Walleye by a 4-3 final score in front of 3,781 at U.S. Bank Arena. Three days after the Walleye escaped with a narrow 3-2 victory, history repeated itself as Toledo handed the Cyclones another closely-fought defeat. Netminder Mac Carruth kept his squad in the game, turning aside 23 of the 26 shots he faced in the tilt.

Hit Me with Your Best Shot: The Clones have equated strong shots on goal numbers to wins this season. They are 14-6-0-1 when outshooting their opponents in 2013-14.

Road Warriors: Despite dropping last Sunday's game in Evansville, Cincy has the third most road points of any team in the ECHL. They've garnered 31 points with their 15-6-0-1 record away from U.S. Bank Arena.

Early Leads Matter: While it's sometimes a deceiving statistic, scoring first in games have been especially important for the Cyclones this year. They are 18-5-1 when lighting the lamp first as opposed to just an 9-12-0-1 mark when the opponent strikes.
