Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo Wings vs Fort Wayne Komets

Tonight will be the ninth meeting out of 14 between the Kalamazoo Wings and Fort Wayne Komets. Kalamazoo leads the season series with a record of 5-3-0-0; however, the Komets defeated the K-Wings in their previous encounter 5-2 last Sunday.

Kalamazoo rides into tonight's contest with a six-game home winning streak. The K-Wings enter tonight first place in the North Division, two points ahead of the Cincinnati Cyclones, who sit in second place, and three points ahead of the third place Komets.

Like the K-Wings, the Komets come into the game looking to extend a streak. Fort Wayne hasn't lost in regulation in eight straight games (5-0-2-1). Since December 31st, the Komets have been on fire, earning a record of 11-3-5-1.

Tonight the K-Wings will host the Fort Wayne Komets during the 3rd Annual Susan G. Komen Night. Kalamazoo is 1-0-0-1 on Susan G. Komen Night with both previous encounters decided in either overtime or a shootout.

Rolling Along

Forwards Justin Taylor and Yannick Veilleux have been racking up points. Taylor has earned points in five straight games, while Veilleux is riding a four-game point streak.
