Ontario Reign News Release

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Ontario Reign (32-12-2-3), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, blanked the Las Vegas Wranglers (11-30-4-2) 4-0 before a crowd of 4,289 on Wednesday night at Orleans Arena. Though the Wranglers started the first period with a great breakaway chance from alternate captain Adam Huxley, but netminder Jussi Olkinuora was able to shut the door on the Wranglers winger. The Reign got on the board first at 7:29 when forward Maxim Kitsyn took a pass from Adrian Van de Mosselaer, and wristed a shot over the glove of Fullerton through traffic for his third of the season. Matt Register got the secondary helper on Kitsyn's goal. Ontario extended its lead to two goals at 11:57 when Sacha Guimond fed forward Mario Lamoureux, who was waiting just to the left of Fullerton and beat the goalie short side; Matt White would receive credit for the secondary assists. Dominant first period, in which the Reign outshot the Wranglers by a 17-6 margin. A scoreless second period was not without its share of excitement, including a shorthanded breakaway for Brett Beebe that was ultimately foiled by Fullerton. The third period saw the Reign resume the scoring ways, as the top line of Lamoureux, White and Sebastian Stalberg continued to buzz the net. At 10:45, Stalberg redirected a saucer pass from Lamoureux past Fullerton to extend the lead to 3-0. Lamoureux would grab his second of the night minutes later at 13:38 after a shot from White stunned Fullerton, giving Lamoureux the time needed to jam the puck over the goal line. Olkinuora earned the win for Ontario making 20 saves, while Fullerton took the loss with 33 stops.
