TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (32-12-2-3) will play the Alaska Aces (31-12-2-1) for the first time at home this season contest between the two clubs at Citizens Business Bank Arena this season. All prior games in 2013-14 between the two clubs have been played up in Alaska on the Olympic-sized ice sheet at Sullivan Arena.
CLUTCH KITSYN:
Since joining the Reign in late January, Russian forward Maxim Kitsyn has lit the lamp three times for Ontario. The sixth round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft has fit in comfortably on the team's second line. Coincidentally, two of Kitsyn's three goals have been game-winners. The first came in a 4-2 win over Colorado on Jan. 29, and the other came for Ontario last night at Las Vegas.
WHITE-HOT:
In addition to scoring the overtime-winning goal for the Reign on Wednesday night, Matt White has recorded three goals over his last four games, with two - including a shorthanded tally - against Bakersfield last Saturday. That represents a quarter of his 12 goals on the season; the coaching staff has entrusted him with bigger minutes as the season has evolved. That trust paid off again yesterday against the Wranglers, as White tied a single-game season high with three assists, all of which came on linemate Mario Lamoureux's three goals.
