Cutters Swept By Scrappers

The Crosscutters managed just one hit as they were shutout 2-0 by the Scrappers, who completed the series sweep.

Ben Pelletier recorded the only hit for Williamsport, singling through the right side of the infield in the bottom of the 1st inning. Williamsport only saw four batters reach base, two on walks and one on a hit by pitch. All were left on base.

Colton Eastman worked two hitless innings, allowing a walk and striking out one in a piggyback start. Jack Perkins allowed a two-run home run, representing the only to runs in the game, in his two innings of work.

James McArthur worked two scoreless innings, allowing a base hit and striking out five. Randy Alcantara went three hitless innings, walking one and striking out two.

It was the third time the Cutters have been swept at home this season. It was the fourth time the Cutters have been held scoreless in 2018, twice by the Scrappers. Williamsport managed just one run in the series.

Cutters pitching recorded 31 strikeouts in the series as Cutters hitters struck out 32 times.
