Staten Island Yankees News Release
STATEN ISLAND--The Staten Island Yankees fell 2-0 to the Lowell Spinners at Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Friday night.
Lowell swept the series with the Yankees after Spinners' closer Andrew Politi recorded his second save of the series to close it out.
The Yankees offense struggled to get runners on base despite good pitching from Juan DePaula and the recently called up Ron Marinaccio.
Staten Island rallied in the eighth and brought the go-ahead run to the plate, but couldn't score. Lowell, meanwhile, scored runs in the fourth and seventh to put the game out of reach.
The Yankees head on the road to Connecticut to play two doubleheaders before the All-Star Break and then return to Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Aug. 15 to play Hudson Valley.
