BROOKLYN, NY (August 9, 2018) - Behind Christian James' seven shutout frames, Los Brooklyn Jefes, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, edged the Connecticut Tigers 2-0 Thursday night at MCU Park in the middle game of a three-game set.

BIG MOMENTS

Christian James spun a career-high seven innings of three-hit ball en route to his third victory of the season, striking out four along the way. James retired the final 10 batters he faced.

Carlos Cortes banged a solo home run down the right field line against Connecticut starter Carlos Guzman in the fourth inning, providing Brooklyn's lone run.

Rehabber Eric Hanhold tossed a scoreless eighth inning, striking out one. Tommy Wilson earned his first professional save with a run-free ninth.

Carlos Cortes clobbered his third professional home run, and hifs first home run at MCU Park.

Walter Rasquin collected two more hits Thursday. The infielder is hitting .387 (12-31) over his past nine games.

With the victory, the Cyclones clinch their sixth series in eight tries at home.
