Tri-City ValleyCats News Release
TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats came up short of finishing their three-game sweep of the Hudson Valley Renegade on Friday night, losing at "The Joe" by a final score of 10-3.
Michael Wielansky and Trey Dawson each provided glimmers of offense, rallying two hits a piece for the ValleyCats.
In the end, home runs from Erik Ostberg and Jordan Qsar proved too much for the ValleyCats to overcome.
Shawn Dubin started the game for Tri-City and ended up with the losing decision, allowing the game's first three runs in the first inning.
The loss snapped a four-game win streak for the ValleyCats, despite the fact that they took the series by winning the first two games.
Now with a record of 30-23, the ValleyCats remain atop the Stedler division, leading the Lowell Spinners by one game.
The ValleyCats will now travel to Burlington, Vermont for a two-game series with the Vermont Lake Monsters prior to the All-Star break.
Coming out of the break, Tri-City will return home on Wednesday, August 15th for a two-game series with the Connecticut Tigers at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
