
Cutters' Late Rally Comes up Short

Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Williamsport Crosscutters were defeated 13-8 Monday night in Auburn, as the Doubledays collected 19 hits off Cutters pitching en route to the victory.
The Doubledays struck immediately in the bottom of the first, racking up three runs on five hits off Cutters starter Leonel Bastidas. They added four more runs on four hits in the second, knocking Bastidas out of the game as they increased their lead to 7-0. The Doubledays then added two in the third and three in the fourth to go up 12-0.
The Cutters found some life in the top of the fifth, as Francisco Diaz hit an RBI single and Kyrell Hudson added an RBI groundout in the inning to make it 12-2.
Auburn answered in their half of the fifth inning with another run to make it 13-2.
The Cutters went down fighting in the ninth, plating five runs off relievers Brian Dupra and Manuel Rivera. Luis Amaro got his first professional hit with a two-out, two-run single in the frame.
The Cutters and Doubledays will play one more time here on Tuesday at 7:05pm at Falcon Park. The two teams will then play three games at Historic Bowman Field from June 29-July 1. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com.
