Brooklyn Cyclones News Release
You "Like" us, you really "Like" us. On Friday, the Cyclones welcomed their 15,000th fan on their official Brooklyn Cyclones Facebook page. The 15,000 fans are nearly three times more than any other team in the New York-Penn League and rank among the most of any Minor League Baseball team in the country. To celebrate this milestone, the Cyclones will host "Social Media Madness" at MCU Park on Wednesday, July 6th.
The night will feature the following:
A Friend of a Friend: Starting today, the Cyclones will post a special discount code for our Facebook friends, which will allow them to buy a ticket and bring a friend for just $15. One lucky fan that uses the special Facebook promo code will also have the chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game. The code - which is available exclusively on the Cyclones Facebook page - can be redeemed on BrooklynCyclones.com or in person at the MCU Park box office.
¬Â¨OMG 4 Reelz': Shorthand abbreviations used on Facebook and in text messages have become part of our everyday vernacular. With that in mind, anyone with the initials OMG or LOL will receive a free bleacher seat as our way of thanking them for all that their initials have added to the world of social media. If your initials are BFF, you and your own BFF can each get a free ticket for the game as well, compliments of the Cyclones. Fans must show photo ID at the Cyclones box office to receive their free tickets.
Cyclones Angry Birds: Okay, they aren't angry, but everyone's favorite feathered mascots - Sandy and Pee Wee - will come visit your section for a special pre-game photo op.
Tweet Your Seats: While at the ballpark, any fans who tweet their seat locations using @BKCyclones will be eligible to win great prizes ranging from Cyclones promotional items to autographed memorabilia and more. One lucky fan will even have the chance to come back to the ballpark and take batting practice on the field, thrown to you by former Cy Young Award Winner and current Cyclones pitching coach Frank Viola.
You <3 BK: Post a special "I <3 BK" graphic as your profile photo on Facebook for a chance to win a luxury suite for you and 19 of your Friends. All you need to do is take the graphic, which is available on the Cyclones Facebook page, post it as your profile picture, and then just leave us a message to let us know you did it. It's that simple. The winner will be notified on July 3rd.
Just Checkin' In: The first 50 fans at the ballpark to "check in" on the Cyclones Facebook page will win $10 worth of Cyclones cash - good for food and merchandise throughout MCU Park.
Words With Friends: Meet up with fellow Cyclones fans and challenge them to a game of "Words with Friends" while also taking in all the action on the field.
For more information call the Cyclones ticket office at 718-37-BKLYN.
