Errors Too Much For Cutters In Loss
Game Highlights: August 9, 2016 Six Crosscutter errors, the most committed by a team in the New York-Penn League this season, lead to a 13-5 loss in the opening game against the Hudson Valley Renegades. The 13 runs are the most allowed so far by the Cutters this season.
The Cutters plated five runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, only to see the Renegades score 12 unanswered runs on 14 hits. The 14 hits are the most allowed by the Cutters this season.
Starter Bailey Falter was delt an unlucky hand, tossing two and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs, all unearned, on one hit while walking three and striking out two. Falter took the no-decision.
Kenny Koplove took the loss, allowing four runs, two earned, in 2.2 innings of relief. Koplove allowed six hit, a pair of walks while striking out three. Alex Kline allowed a pair of runs, one earned, on two hits, two walks and a strikeout in 1.1 innings. Tyler Hallead tossed the final 2.1 innings, allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits and a home run while striking out two.
Luke Maglich was the highlight of the Cutters offense, as the outfielder finished the night 3-for-4 with his 5th double and his 15th RBI of the season. The eight run deficit is tied for the worst loss this season for the Cutters.
