Hudson Valley Renegades News Release
WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The Hudson Valley Renegades started their six-game road trip by scoring 13 runs off of four Williamsport pitchers and six errors to come back from a four-run deficit and win 13-5 Tuesday night at BB&T Park. Five of the runs were unearned
The Renegades started the scoring in the first. With two out and no one on, right fielder Ryan Boldt reached second after a fielding error from Williamsport left fielder Juan Luis. Third baseman Jim Haley followed that by reaching on a throwing error from shortstop Chandler Hall, which allowed Boldt to score from second and give Hudson Valley a 1-0 lead.
However, Williamsport responded by exploding for five runs in the bottom-half of the inning. Jesus Alastre led off with a walk before moving to second on a wild pitch from Hudson Valley starter Eduard Rosillo. Luke Maglich then stepped in and doubled to left to score Alastre and tie the game. Gregory Rivero moved Maglich to third on a single to center to put runners at the corners with no one out.
Derrick Hall would then follow that with a single to right to score Maglich and move Rivero to second to put the Crosscutters on top. After a passed ball moved runners to second and third, Brett Barbier singled to right to score Boltdt and move Hall to third. Rosillo then uncorked a wild pitch to score Hall and make the score 4-1. Barbier moved to second on the play to put another runner in scoring position with still no one out in the first.

After Rosillo retired to next hitter to end the inning, the Crosscutters ended the first by batting around with five runs to take a 5-1 lead.
But sloppy Williamsport play allowed the Renegades to get back into the game. Hudson Valley got two back in the third, which began with a walk to shortstop Bill Pujols after a foul pop-up was dropped by Barbier. Pujols then moved to third and Fraley reached, after Espiritu threw a fielder's choice attempt into left field, putting runners at first and third with none out. After Fraley stole second, a groundout by centerfielder Garrett Whitley allowed Pujols to score and moved Jake to third. The LSU product came across when a passed by by Rivero made it 5
Things stayed that way until the fourth when with two out and nobody aboard Fraley laced a single to right before stealing second for the second time in the game, and moving to third on a throwing error by Rivero. Whitley then doubled to left to score Fraley and bring the Renegades to within one. After a wild pitch sent Whitley to third, Boldt doubled to left to score Whitley and made the score five all.
Things stayed that way until the sixth where with one out, Whitley singled left and advanced to second on a fielder error by Juan Luis. Whitley then proceeded to steal third before a Boldt walk put runners at the corners with one out. That's when Haley stepped to the plate and grounded an infield single to Espiritu at second to allow Whitley to score and give Hudson Valley the lead and move Boldt to third. Reliever Alexander Kline came in to replace fellow reliever Kenny Koplove and promptly picked off Haley at first. Never deterred, first baseman Nate Lowe ripped a double to center to score Boldt and make the score 7-5 Renegades.
Hudson Valley added two more in the seventh. With one out, second baseman Miles Mastrobuoni walked and Pujols singled to right to send Mastrobuoni to third. Pujols immediately stole second before Fraley drove in another run with a sac fly to center to score Mastrobuoni and move Pujols to third. Whitley came up next and drew a walk. On ball four, the pitch got by Rivero to allow Pujols to score and make it 9-5 Hudson Valley.
The Renegades then put the game away with four more runs in the ninth. With one out, Pujols singled to third before a line out put two away in the inning. Whitley then stepped to the plate and smashed his first homer of they year; a two-run blast to center to make it 11-5. After Boldt was hit by a pitch, Haley singled to short to move Boldt to second. Lowe would then single to left to score Boldt and move Haley to third. Haley then came across on another passed ball by Rivero to give Hudson Valley a 13-5 lead.
For the game, Hudson Valley tied a season-high with 14 hits including three apiece from Whitley and Haley. Whitley homered, doubled and drove in four runs while scoring three more. Haley had three singles, a run and RBI as well. Lowe, Pujols and designated hitter Angel Perez chipped in with two hits apiece/ Lowe doubled and drove in runs, while Pujols scored three times.
