Cutters Drop Doubledays 7-3

The Williamsport Crosscutters improved to 6-7 on the season, defeating the Auburn Doubledays 7-3 Wednesday night at Historic Bowman field.

The Cutters got on the board in the bottom of the third, notching two runs on two hits to go up 2-0. Maikel Franco delivered an RBI single as part of the effort.

Auburn got a run back in the top of the fourth, as Justin Miller's RBI triple made it 2-1. Williamsport immediately answered in their half of the frame on an RBI single by Witer Jimenez to increase their lead to 3-1.

The Doubledays added a run off Bryan Morgado in the sixth, trimming Williamsport's lead to 3-2.

Kenny Miramontes extended the Cutters lead with a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth, making it a 5-2 game. After the Doubledays scratched out a run in the top of the eighth, Aaron Altherr's two-out, two-run single increased Williamsport's lead to 7-3.
