Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

The Crosscutters fell behind 3-0, but scored seven unanswered runs to beat the Jamestown Jammers 7-3 Wednesday night. The game was called due to rain in the eighth inning and is Williamsport's third in a row.

Cameron Perkins gave the Cutters the lead for good in the fifth inning on his first professional home run.

Williamsport did fall behind 3-0 in the second inning when Jamestown mounted a two-out rally against Cutters starter Jeb Stefan.

Kyle Hoppy cut the deficit to 3-1 in the third inning by scoring on a passed ball.

The Cutters then tied the game in the fourth when Gustavo Gonzalez plated Chace Numata on a sac fly and Logan Moore came home on a wild pitch.

Perkins's homer in the fifth put the Crosscutters on top before Williamsport put up three more runs in the sixth inning. Hoppy drew a bases-loaded walk, before Zach Taylor grounded into a fielder's choice to score Moore. Gonzalez then scored in the next at-bat on another wild pitch.

Jon Musser came on in relief of Stefan and earned his first win. Musser retired nine of ten batters faced and delivered his best outing of the season.

Williamsport goes for their second sweep in a row Friday night. First pitch against the Jammers is at 7:05. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com.
