Cutters Bats Explode in Blowout Win

The Crosscutters used a five-run rally in the second inning to race out to an 8-0 lead at West Virginia on their way to an 8-3 victory.

The Crosscutters ended their nine-game losing streak by setting a season-high for runs scored in a game and an inning. Williamsport cranked out 12 base-hits and also drew eight walks.

Juan Aparicio was 3-for-5 with a triple and 3 RBI. The Cutters catcher from Venezuela extended the league's longest hitting streak to nine games.

Nate Fassnacht had a pair of doubles and two runs scored. Hunter Markwardt was 3-for-6 with three runs scored, a stolen base, and an RBI.

The Crosscutters are back in action Saturday at 7:05 p.m. with right-hander Leonel Aponte getting the start at the West Virginia Black Bears. The six-game road-trip concludes Sunday at 1:05 at West Virginia.
