
Comeback Propels Connecticut Win against Hudson Valley

Norwich, CT - Kingston Liniak went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and a home run as the Connecticut Tigers (5-9) picked up an 8-6 win against the Hudson Valley Renegades (6-8).
The Renegades jumped up out to a 6-0 lead through the first four innings. They got the scoring started in the first inning on a wild pitch.
In the second inning, Carlos Vargas scored on a fielder's choice, following a lead-off double to start the inning. The third inning added another run on a throwing error on a steal attempt by Beau Brundage.
After a wild pitch scored a run, Hill Alexander pushed the Renegades out to a larger lead in the fourth with a three-run home run to left field. This was the last run Hudson Valley scored in the game.
The Tigers began their rally in the bottom of the fourth with a two-RBI single by Corey Joyce to make it 6-2. Joyce finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
Liniak led off the next inning for the Tigers with a solo-home run to cut the deficit to 6-3. In the same inning, Ryan Kreidler scored the second run of the inning on a wild pitch to make it 6-4.
Connecticut added three more runs in the sixth inning. Liniak delivered again with an RBI-single to center field to score
Alexis Garcia. Jake Holton got his first pair of RBIs in the game with a double down the right-field line to make it 7-6.
The Tigers added a run in the seventh to make it 8-6 on a wild pitch to score Joyce. Raul De Los Reyes (Win, 1-0), Zach Hess (Hold, 1) and Austin Anderson (Save, 2) pitched four scoreless innings to close out the game for Connecticut. This was the first New York-Penn League outing for Hess this year. He went one inning with no hits and one strikeout
The Connecticut Tigers are back in action tomorrow in the second game of the series against the Hudson Valley Renegades. The Tigers will host "Halfway to Holidays" at the ballpark. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. You can catch all the action from Dodd Stadium on the Norwich Courtyard by Marriott Connecticut Tigers Radio Network on 1310 WICH. Elijah Gonzalez will have the call. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Chavez Fernander (1-1, 1.86)
