ERIE, Pa. - Henry Davis and Domingo Leyba each slugged their second home runs of the season in two-hit games for the Curve on Sunday afternoon, but Erie's offense was too much for Altoona to handle in a 7-3 loss at UPMC Park.

Davis's second home run of the week came in the fourth inning off Erie starter Sawyer Gipson-Long, a solo shot to center field to make it a 3-1 game. Davis finished the week with four RBI and four walks to go with five hits against the SeaWolves.

Leyba would follow with a solo shot of his own in the sixth inning off reliever Chance Kirby. Davis would then smack a single before Matt Gorski grounded into a fielder's choice. Gorski would steal second base, but a throwing error by the catcher Julio Rodriguez allowed him to advance to third. As he went into third base, a second throwing error from center fielder Grant Witherspoon allowed Gorski to score.

Curve starter Aaron Shortridge allowed four runs on six hits in 3.1 innings in his second start of the week against Erie. He allowed two runs to cross in the bottom of the second on a Trei Cruz two RBI-single that scored Jake Holton and Gage Workman, who both reached on hits.

Erie would add another in the third after a pair of singles put runners on first and third with no one out. Rodriguez would then ground into a double play, allowing one run to score. In the fourth, Workman reached third on a three-base error by Davis in right field. He would score on a Mario Feliciano double.

Witherspoon would launch a three-run home run off Tahnaj Thomas in the seventh inning to put the game out of reach for the Curve. Thomas allowed three runs on just one hit in the frame. Diego Rincones reached on an error by third baseman Drew Maggi before the home run, resulting on just two earned runs on Thomas's line.

Noe Toribio looked dominant once again in relief for Altoona. He spun 2.2 scoreless frames, allowing just one hit with three strikeouts. In two appearances in the series, Toribio tossed 4.2 innings without allowing a run. He gave up two hits and struck out eight batters with no walks.

Tyler Samaniego tossed a scoreless ninth inning for the Curve with one walk and no hits. Josh Palacios finished with two hits in the loss for Altoona, while Matt Fraizer extended his hitting streak to seven games by going 1-for-4. Fraizer finished the week with nine hits, three doubles, two home runs, three walks, and a .360 average playing in all six games.

The Curve return home on Tuesday night to begin a six-game series with the Bowie Baysox, Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. with RHP Kyle Nicolas on the mound for Altoona against RHP Chayce McDermott for Bowie.
