CURVE, Pa. - The Altoona Curve will open their 2012 season at Blair County Ballpark, once again host a game on July 4, and be home for 30 games in July and August, the team announced today when releasing its schedule for next season.

The Curve's 14th season of Eastern League baseball will begin on Thursday, April 5 against the Erie SeaWolves at Blair County Ballpark. Altoona is scheduled to play 13 home games in April, 15 in May, 13 in June and 15 each in July and August while having no home dates in the month of September. The club will once again spend the Fourth of July in Curve, Pa. as they'll face the Reading Phillies at home.

Game times for the 2012 season have been slightly tweaked in the months of April and May. While the standard game times for contests Monday-Friday will remain at 6:30 p.m. in the first two months, the weekend times have been adjusted. Saturdays in April and May will have scheduled start times of 6 p.m. (a half-hour later than 2011), while Sunday games will begin at 1 p.m. (an hour earlier than this season). The exception will be Sunday, May 20 which has a scheduled first pitch of 6 p.m.

Standard June-August game times will remain 7 p.m. for Monday-Saturday games and 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Curve will host four weekday day games during the 2012 season. There will be three Education Days with 10:30 a.m. game times: May 9, 23, and 24. Monday, July 9 will be the annual Super Splash Day game at 12 p.m.

"We're really pleased with our schedule for 2012," said Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "To open the season at Blair County Ballpark, once again host a game on July 4th, and have 15 home dates in both July and August will give our fans plenty of great dates to choose from next year."

Fans of the New York Yankees will get to see the Trenton Thunder at two different points in 2012 with the first series coming June 12-14. The two clubs will play three more times in Altoona: August 10-12.

Red Sox fans will get their taste of the Portland Sea Dogs June 1-3 in Curve, Pa. Those that wish to see the Harrisburg Senators and some of the top prospects in the Nationals' organization will have an opportunity to do so as the Curve have seven home dates with the Senators early in the season.

Season tickets for 2012 are currently on sale by calling 877.99.CURVE or by stopping by the offices at Blair County Ballpark. Fans that would like to inquire about purchasing season-tickets for the 14th season of baseball can also do so during all four of the club's final home games this weekend at BCB.
