Baysox Parrot Named Diamond Pro Sports Field Manager of the Year

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox and the Eastern League of Professional Baseball Clubs announce today that Baysox Director of Field and Facility Operations Matt Parrott has been named Diamond Pro Sports Field Manager of the Year. Parrott is in his ninth season with the Baysox, and this is the first time he has been honored with the award. The award is voted on by Eastern League field staff and umpires.

Baysox General Manager Brian Shallcross was pleased to recognize Parrott and Baysox Assistant Groundskeeper Jason Green. "During Matt's tenure with the Baysox, he and his crew have systematically transformed our playing surface into one of the finest in AA baseball," said Shallcross. "The aesthetics of the field are not Matt's priority, playability and safety are paramount in his operation. We are very proud and honored with this award from Diamond Pro.
