DURHAM, NC-Jeremy Cummings turned in a gem of a start Monday at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park as the Bulls shut out the visiting Pawtucket Red Sox by a final score of 6-0 to earn a split of the teams' season series.

Cummings (5-0, 0.84), who opened the season pitching in Taiwan, maintained his perfect record since returning to America by scattering five hits across seven innings of work. His 11 strikeouts were the most in a single game for a Bulls pitcher this season. Juan Salas finished the game, pitching two innings out of the bullpen and allowing two hits and a walk while striking out one.

Meanwhile, Durham pounced on Pawtucket starter Kyle Snyder (1-3, 6.28), who retired only one batter and allowed four runs on four hits and three walks before leaving with an injury. The Bulls added insurance runs in the fifth and the seventh innings to seal the victory. Dan Johnson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two walks and a run batted in, and Mike DiFelice was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs batted in.

The Richmond Braves come to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Tuesday to begin a four-game set with the Bulls. Ben Hendrickson (4-3, 3.21) will deliver the first pitch at 7:05 p.m., while the Braves will counter with right-hander Charlie Morton (4-1, 1.91).
