(AVON, Ohio) - The Lake Erie Crushers beat the Evansville Otters 8-4 tonight at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Evansville's Troy Frazier handed the Otters a 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the second inning but the Lake Erie Crushers tallied a run in the bottom half to tie the game. The Crushers would then add four more runs in the next inning including a three-run home run from designated hitter Kellen Kulbacki.

Down 5-1, the Otters rallied to get two of those runs back in the 4th inning. Jose Hernandez doubled home a run (extending his hitting streak to 10 games) and the outfielder scored on the next single from catcher Phil Britton.

Trailing 5-3, that was as close as Evansville would get during the game. The Crushers continued to score and held on for the 8-4 win on Saturday night.

Lake Erie evens up their record to 35-35 with the win as Evansville has now lost back to back games, falling to 26-45. Crushers starting pitcher Randy Sturgill (6-1) allowed four runs (three earned) over five innings for the win. Evansville's Kyle Barry (2-6) takes the loss, yielding seven runs in 4 2/3 innings pitched.

Evansville outfielder Greg Alexander recorded three hits in the win as Phil Britton and Alex Foltz both had two hits as well. The series comes to an end on Sunday evening at 5:05 p.m. EST . Right-hander Dan Marcacci (4-1, 1.80 Earned Run Average) will look to avoid a sweep for Evansville as he will be opposed by Lake Erie righty Thomas Campbell (2-0, 2.31 ERA).
