Lake Erie Crushers News Release
AVON, Ohio - Lake Erie Crushers field manager John Massarelli will appear live on ESPN's morning talk show "First Take" airing on Wednesday, June 30 at 11:20 a.m. on ESPN2.
Massarelli will be discussing the Crushers contract offer to LeBron James among other topics.
The Crushers have received national media attention for their LeBron-related efforts, which include the Keep LBJ in the C-L-E night, which is set for Wednesday evening as well.
This is the second time in 14 months that the Crushers have appeared on "First Take." Last season, the team was featured because of its work with the Belvedere of Westlake, an assisted living facility in the Cleveland suburb.
ESPN First Take is a morning talk show offering a fresh take on sports, airing weekdays from 10 a.m. to noon and featuring hosts Jay Crawford and Dana Jacobson along with former columnist Skip Bayless.
Wednesday's Keep LBJ in the C-L-E night is built around the premise of the Crushers max contract offer to James. The team has also offered James luxury suite in which he can hold his free agent summit with other pending NBA free agents.
The team will don special Cavaliers-themed jerseys that will be auctioned after the game. If James is in attendance, all proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to the LeBron James Family Foundation.
Fans won't be left out of the action either, with the first 1,000 in attendance receiving t-shirts with the Cavaliers-themed Crushers logo courtesy of Awesome Wares. Fans sporting Cavaliers gear will receive $6 home box tickets and anyone named LeBron gets in free of charge.
Tickets are still available for Wednesday and can be purchased at the All Pro Freight Stadium box office, over the phone at (440) 934-3636 or online at www.lakeeriecrushers.com.
The Lake Erie Crushers, the 2009 Frontier League Champions, play ball at All Pro Freight Stadium located in Avon, OH. Beginning in 2010, All Pro Freight Stadium will also be home to the Cleveland State University baseball team. The Frontier League is an independent baseball league with 12 teams operating throughout the Midwest. Season tickets for the 2010 season are on sale now!
