TORONTO - The Toronto Marlies swept the Syracuse Crunch this weekend, defeating the team, 3-1, tonight at Ricoh Coliseum.

The loss extends the Crunch's winless streak to three and moves the team to 4-9-1-2 on the season. The Marlies have built a 3-0 lead in the eight-game season series.

Netminder Louis Domingue stopped 26-of-28 in net for the Crunch, while Calvin Pickard allowed one goal on 24 shots between the pipes for the Marlies. Syracuse was unable to convert on four power play opportunities, but went a perfect 8-for-8 on the penalty kill.

Toronto was first on the board with a shorthanded goal 4:56 into the game. Martin Marincin skated around the back of the net and threw a feed out for Justin Holl to send home through traffic from the left circle. Jeremy Bracco earned the secondary assist.

Halfway through the opening frame, the Crunch knotted the game with a shorthanded goal of their own. Cory Conacher won a battle in the corner and backhanded a cross-zone pass. Kevin Lynch picked it up in the right circle and beat Pickard with a low wrister.

The Marlies regained the lead at the 7:45 mark of the third period when the team forced a turnover at the blue line. A series of quick passes moved the puck into the zone before Andreas Johnsson fed Miro Aaltonen on the backdoor. Kasperi Kapanen tallied the secondary helper.

Ben Smith went on to add an empty-netter for Toronto with the help of Colin Greening late in the frame.

The Crunch return to the War Memorial Arena to host the Rochester Americans on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
