Monsters Weekly Storylines

In a scheduling quirk, the Monsters will play their third-consecutive game vs. their Central Division rivals, the Milwaukee Admirals, on Wednesday at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee, WI. Through interviews with Monsters coaches and players, a deep dive into this playoff-esque series would provide analysis of this unique early-season test of the Monsters' mettle. Former Blue Jackets first-round pick Gabriel Carlsson has endured an eventful week. The second-year Swedish blue-liner was assigned to Cleveland by Columbus on Friday, played for the Monsters on Saturday, was recalled by the Blue Jackets on Sunday, then assigned back to the Monsters later in the day. An examination of Carlsson's yo-yo weekend would provide an interesting peek inside the sometimes-nebulous existence of top NHL prospects.

The Cleveland Monsters are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League playing at Quicken Loans Arena and the Canton Charge of the NBA G League playing in nearby Canton, Ohio at the Canton Civic Center.
