The Auburn Doubledays took game one of a three game series with the Williamsport Crosscutters Thursday night, 7-2. The Doubledays brought in two runs in the second inning of Cutters starter Tyson
Brummett (0-1). LHP Billy Harris relieved Brummett after three innings and pitched four frames of scoreless ball. Williamsport cut the deficit in half in the bottom half of the seventh when Tyler Mach drove in his first run as a Cutter. Auburn tallied five runs in the eighth off of RHP Carlos Pena, who recorded only one out before getting pulled.
The Cutters could muster only one more run in the game, when Mach singled in Matt Rizzotti in the bottom of the ninth. Mach went three for four in the contest with a double and those two runs batted in.
