Brooklyn Cyclones News Release

JULY 5th: On July 5th, the Cyclones will take on the rival SI Yankees, and fans will be entertained by the hilarious antics of the purple party dude...Reggy! Celebrate the holiday weekend at the ballpark, and watch the Cyclones face the Yankees in the battle of the boroughs! July 5th is also Latino Heritage Night, and the game is sponsored by Maimonides Medical Center.

FIRST PLACE: The Cyclones are 7-2 through the first nine games of the season, sitting atop the McNamara Division. The Brooklyn team has featured outstanding pitching pitching, clutch hitting, and solid defense -- all combining to create the best record of any team in the NYPL. J.R Voyles has been a hitting star for the team, and leads the league in home runs (2) and RBI (13), while playing second and third base.

BRING YOUR WEBKINZ TO THE PARK NIGHT: On July 8th, the Cyclones are inviting kids to bring their Webkinz to the ballpark! Webkinz are lovable plush pets that each come with a unique Secret Code. Before the game, kids are invited to bring their own Webkinz onto the field, to parade around the warning track (and even trade with other kids)! We'll even be giving away the red-hot, hard-to-find collectibles throughout the game!!! Remember, every Sunday is Kids Day at KeySpan Park, so kids will also get to run the bases after the game!

TAKE YOUR BASE 2007: The American Cancer Society and the Brooklyn Cyclones present the 3rd Annual Take Your Base walk, a community and family event designed to raise awareness about, and highlight the importance of, screening and early detection of cancer.

Join the American Cancer Society and the 2007 Cyclones this Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the famous Riegelman Boardwalk in Coney Island in the fight against cancer. Make it a family affair!

Prior to the walk, participants will have the chance to sign the "Book of Heroes," dedicated to friends and loved one's who have battled cancer, and enjoy the opportunity to get autographs from the 2007 Cyclones team.
