Mahoning Valley Scrappers News Release
This season, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers are teaming up with the American Cancer Society, Starbucks, and the Relay For Life to host the first ever "Run For Life" at Eastwood Field on Saturday, July 21, 2007. This will be a day dedicated to recognize and provide support for the local Relay For Life and American Cancer Society. The day begins in the morning with a 5K Race and Cancer Survivors Walk and will conclude with a night at the ballpark to see the Scrappers take on the Oneonta Tigers at 7:05 PM. A portion of the proceeds from the 5K Race and Cancer Survivors Walk will be donated back to the Relay For Life. The game includes a purple jersey auction presented by Starbucks.
$10 early registration includes race/walk entry, a t-shirt, and a ticket to the game that evening! Awards will be given to the top runners who place, and all survivor walk entries will receive certificates of participation. The survivor walk will take place on the Eastwood Mall warning track. The 5K Race will begin at the stadium and circle the Eastwood Mall complex and finish back inside Eastwood Field (click for flyer).
