Tri-City ValleyCats News Release
TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first, but four errors proved costly as the âCats were defeated by the Oneonta Tigers by a score of 10-6 on Thursday night at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
Former Schenectady star Casper Wells went 3-4 in the contest with two homeruns, a double, and five runs batted in. The difference of the game proved to be the fielding blunders as the Tigers scored four unearned runs.
The ValleyCats potent offensive kept the game close, led by a Russ Dixon homerun and nine combined hits from the âCats two through five hitters. In the last three games the ValleyCats have compiled a total of 25 runs, 42 hits and 6 homeruns.
The three game series with Oneonta resumes tomorrow night in Oneonta, but the âCats will be back in action at "The Joe" on Saturday, June 30 at 7:00 pm. The Saturday night game will feature the World Air Guitar Championship throughout the game with the winner taking home a brand new guitar. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Joe Bruno Stadium Box Office, by calling (518) 629-CATS, or by logging on to www.tcvalleycats.com.
âCATS NOTES: Collin DeLome's three hits extended his multi-hit streak to five games...Russell Dixon has an RBI in four straight games...
