Louisville Bats News Release
LOUISVILLE, KY - Narciso Crook homered with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to force extras and Michael De Leon singled in the 10th to lead the Louisville Bats to a 6-5 come-from-behind win over the Toledo Mud Hens Saturday afternoon at Louisville Slugger Field.
The Bats held the lead 3-1 after six innings of play but the Mud Hens rallied with a four-run seventh off right-hander Ryan Hendrix to take the lead. Riley Greene singled to left to put the Mud Ducks within one run before top prospect Spencer Torkelson unleashed a three-run shot to right field off the Humana Cabana to make the score 5-3 in favor of Toledo.
Down but not out, the Bats put a runner aboard when Alejo Lopez reached on a fielding error at second base. Crook then forced extras with a towering two-run homer to straightaway center field that tied the score 5-5.
After the Bats navigated a scoreless top of the 10th, De Leon snuck a single past the second baseman into right field to score the winning run in a 6-5 Bats victory.
The two teams will cap their five-game series Sunday at 1 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. LHP Reiver Sanmartin (8-2, 3.94) takes the bump against RHP Pedro Payano (4-7, 5.14).
